According to a recent study by Apple’s analyst Mr. Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple Inc. plans to release the iPhone SE 2 in the initial part of 2020, which is priced at US$ 399, i.e., 28,200. The affordable iPhone version will be equipped with the latest Apple A13 Bionic chip, but will not integrate 3D Touch. Mr. Kuo details other specifications of the iPhone SE 2, including its color options, RAM, and storage models. The specifications for the new low-end iPhone include A13 CPU (same as iPhone 11), 3GB LPDDR4X, 64GB and 128GB options, space gray, silver and red, and no 3D touch. It will have a similar design to the iPhone 8 and will use the Touch ID fingerprint reader instead of the Face ID.
Mr. Kuo assumes the new iPhone SE 2 to be an upgrade option for the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S users. Despite being termed as “iPhone SE 2”, the analysts expect Apple’s new budget iPhone to look like the iPhone 8. In the previous report, Mr. Kuo suggested that the size of the iPhone SE 2 is 4.7 inches LCD and integrated Touch ID on the home button. It should run on the latest version of iOS 13 at startup. It is speculated that with the release of the iPhone SE 2, Cupertino company will stop selling the iPhone 8 to make room for new products.
Mr. Kuo also said earlier that Apple is planning to launch an augmented reality (AR) headset and new iPad Pro, a new MacBook in 2020. Kuo hopes that Apple will work with third parties to create the first AR headsets. The new iPad Pro will be launched in the first quarter and is reported to be equipped with a back 3D time-of-flight sensor to improve the accuracy of depth-of-field photography. At the same time, the MacBook with the new scissor-switch keyboard may be released in the second quarter of 2020.
